CBT webinar explains latest updates
On January 30, 2013, NCEES presented a webinar to update its member licensing boards on preparations to implement computer-based testing for the FE and FS exams in January 2014. Notice of initiation of computer-based testing
NCEES is scheduled to complete the transition of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) and Fundamentals of Surveying (FS) exams to computer-based testing (CBT) on January 1, 2014. The transition to CBT involves significant changes to the format of the exams and the procedures for administering them.
NCEES approves expanding computer-based testing to PE, PS exams at 2012 annual meeting
The state licensing boards that compose NCEES, the organization that develops and administers the exams used for engineering and surveying licensure throughout the United States, have voted to begin converting the PE and PS exams to a computer-based format. The CBT experience
Beginning in January 2014, NCEES will offer the FE and FS as computer-based exams rather than as pencil-and-paper exams. The exams will be administered through the Pearson VUE. This video gives a basic sense of what the testing environment will be like for FE and FS examinees in 2014.
FS exam specifications for CBT
The current specifications for the Fundamentals of Surveying (FS) exam will change in January 2014 in conjunction with the exam’s transition to computer-based testing (CBT).
